We can&#8217;t help ourselves from writing about it, because bakeries in Barcelona are a-ma-zing! Here&#8217;s one of the oldest in town, Fleca Balmes. Existing form 1908, it was opened by \u00c2\u00a0Manuel Crespo, the grandpa of the current owner and bakery chef: Eduard Crespo. Nowadays, Eduard, with the help of his daughter (Giorgina), bake more than 30 artisan, traditional and natural types of bread (daily), with extraordinary pieces just like <em>Coca de Girona<\/em> (incredible to make <em>pa amb tom\u00e0\u00a0quet<\/em>), our catalan speciality <em>Pa de pag\u00e0\u00a8s<\/em>, organic spelt flour loafs and a variety of special breads like olives, orange and chocolate or cheese.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-2673 aligncenter\" alt=\"bakery\" src=\"http:\/\/cookingclassesbarcelona.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1749.jpg\" width=\"384\" height=\"288\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bcnkitchen.com\/cookingclassesbarcelona\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1749.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.bcnkitchen.com\/cookingclassesbarcelona\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_1749-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 384px) 100vw, 384px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Not only the bread is worth a visit, so if you go there, don&#8217;t hesitate to buy some sweet treat: their <em>magdalenes<\/em> (muffins in a local style), their <em>palmeres<\/em> (crunchy, chocolatey and amazing) or their croissants are excellent.
