We know, we already wrote an entry about hot chocolate and the very best street to have some in Barcelona. Our hot chocolate, thick, warm, intense and slightly bitter is one of the best gastronomic treasures, and a part from the Petritxol Street (where you can find two of the most typical chocolate bars in Barcelona), you can find some really good hot chocolates in different bars.
Cafਠde l’Òpera would be one of these bars. Xocolata (or suís) amb xurros is, during winter, the best taste in this modernist (Catalan Art Nouveau is called Modernisme) cafe. Existing from 1890 as a chocolate shop, and being a cafe from 1929, this is the place where artists from the Liceu Great Theatre, musicians, dancers, bohemians, intellectuals and politicians have gathered around their tables. If you love our chocolate, if you want to rest and have something warm in Las Ramblas or if you’re interested in Art Nouveau, this is a place to discover!
